PROGRAMS

Our programs are designed as “clubs” to reinforce collaboration and teamwork, as these methods have been shown to greatly enhance girls’ learning. To build both skills and confidence, the curriculum and club structure is designed to be inquiry-driven —  activities are hands-on and fun, rather than demonstration style — with opportunities to experiment and to fail in safe and supportive settings. Science Club for Girls programs are organized by age/grade level.

Science Clubs (Grades K-8)

8 weeks of hands-on explorations in STEM led by volunteer women-in-STEM mentors and high school Junior Mentors in weekly afterschool and Saturday settings.

Junior Mentors (Grades 8-12)

A STEM learning and leadership development program for girls and gender-expansive youth in grades 8-12 who serve as near-peer mentors, co-teaching with adult mentors in the K-8 clubs.
